The advent calendar shows a view into an Erzgebirge carving workshop, especially that of a hoop turner. The craft of the hoop turner in the Erzgebirge was developed around 1800 near Seiffen. Hoop turning is still an important craft in the manufacture of toys today. Christmas pyramids and other Christmas table and room decorations. Tire turning is an integral part of Erzgebirge folk art.
