Advent calendar "Dresden Frauenkirche"
Everything started with this advent calendar of the Dresdner Frauenkirche. It was the first Advent calendar with a historical city view of the publisher Brück & Sohn. It was inspired by the famous Canaletto motif of the Dresden Neumarkt. Lovingly painted pictures were created, which were supposed to hide behind the little windows, like the "Pflaumentoffel" and the "Striezelkinder" by Ludwig Richter.
At that time, one could not have guessed what symbolic power the Frauenkirche Dresden would once assume. But the courage of many Dresden citizens around Ludwig Güttler, who initiated and implemented the reconstruction of the Dresden Frauenkirche, caused the Dresden Frauenkirche to be rebuilt and become a symbol of worldwide peace and reconciliation.
