Advent calendar "Freiberg"

The mountain town of Freiberg plays an important role in the history of Saxony. Silver mining brought riches and power to the rulers of the Middle Ages in Saxony. The Freiberg Cathedral of St. Mary is such a symbol of the power of the Middle Ages. The cathedral is the landmark of the small town in the Erzgebirge. It is famous for its Golden Gate, the big and the small Silbermann organ and the Miners and Tulips pulpit. In 2014, Freiberg Cathedral celebrated a significant anniversary, 300 years of the Great Silbermann Organ.

Behind the windows of our Advent calendar are hidden Christmas-themed Erzgebirge motifs. The windows fit well into the forms of the architecture and the motif of the Freiberger Domes on the Untermarkt remains preserved in its beauty, even if all the windows are open.
