Advent calendar "Seiffen church"
The "mountain church Seiffen" is popularly called simply "Seiffener church". The octagonal floor plan of the church is unique and makes it known throughout the world. Christian Gotthelf Reuther was inspired by the design of the Dresden Frauenkirche when planning the church in Seiffen. Its interior reflects the bright and friendly Saxon Baroque at the end of the 18th century.
The Erzgebirge wood carving art has also made the Seiffen church world famous. Behind the windows of this Advent calendar are many well-known figures of the Erzgebirge carving industry such as nutcrackers, incense smokers, miners, angels and many more.
