Advent calendar St. Stephen's Cathedral Vienna
This advent calendar shows St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, a Roman Catholic cathedral. The history of St. Stephen's Cathedral began in 1365 as a cathedral church, in 1469 it became a cathedral and has been the archbishop's metropolitan church since 1723. The Viennese affectionately call St. Stephen's Cathedral "Steffl". 13 bells belong to the chimes, the largest and most important bell is the Pummerin. It is only rung as a soloist on special occasions. The uniquely designed roof is particularly striking. Heraldic patterns are made from differently colored roof tiles. The old town of Vienna with St. Stephen's Cathedral in the center and Schönbrunn Palace are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The most visited sights in the city of Vienna are St. Stephen's Cathedral, Schönbrunn Palace, the Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School, the Albertina, Belvedere Palace and the Prater with its Ferris wheel. The 24 windows of our Advent calendar, carefully inserted into the architecture, will surprise you with lovingly painted, regionally and Christmas-inspired pictures. We wish you a happy advent season with our advent calendar.
