In 1937 Max Schanz even won a gold medal in Paris at the World's Fair with his striezel children.

With its many toys, wooden figures and pyramids, the Erzgebirge Toy Museum Seiffen, which opened in 1953, shows the development of Erzgebirge woodenart from the mining period to the present day. Thousands of visitors to the Erzgebirge Toy Museum Seiffen are marveled by Striezelkinder, nutcracker, carolers, smokers, miners and angels, pyramids, candlesticks and toys of all kinds from many decades of Erzgebirgische wood art every year. In Seiffen the highlights of the Advent season are the parade on the 1st Advent sunday with the children's group "Living Toys" and the great mountain parade on Saturday before the 3rd Advent sunday.
