The "Sistine Madonna" by Raphael is one of the most famous paintings of the Italian Renaissance. It is housed in the "Old Masters" Picture Gallery in the Dresden State Art Collections after it was purchased by King August III in 1754. Many people are less familiar with the painting as a whole than with the two putto figures at the bottom of the picture (Raphael's angel), which appear millions of times as an independent motif in the advertising industry or as posters and postcards in everyday culture.
Hidden behind the 24 little doors are 24 works of art from the Old Masters Picture Gallery of the Dresden State Art Collections.
