2276 - Adventskalender "Dresden Hofkirche"
Advent calendar "Dresden Hofkirche"
Dresden is actually one of the most beautiful and famous cities in Europe. That's why it was very easy for Brück & Sohn to publish a second Advent calendar from Dresden. The Catholic Court Church Dresden was built from 1739 to 1754 in the most beautiful Roman Baroque. The construction had become necessary because Saxony was Protestant, but his Elector August the Strong had to accept the Catholic faith, as he wanted to become King of Poland. In 1980, the Catholic Court Church Dresden was elevated to the Cathedral of St. Trinity. The oblique positioning opposite the surrounding monuments such as the Brühl Terrace, the Dresden Castle and the Semperoper, brings the unusual size of the Hofkirche to its best advantage.
This advent calendar shows the entire panorama of the Terrassenufer in former times. The Elbe is frozen and the people of Dresden enjoy themselves on the ice. Behind the windows of the Advent calendar, there are Christmassy and typical Saxon motifs. Dresdner Christstollen, Pflaumentoffel and baked apple must not be missing. Have fun opening in Advent..
