The seaside resort of Ahrenshoop in the Fischland region on the German Baltic coast of the Bay of Mecklenburg lies on the link between the Darß peninsula and the mainland. Art painters settled here at the end of the 19th century. Subsequently, the village developed into a seaside resort. In 1909, the Kunstkaten was built, where many exhibitions have been held since then.
The Bunte Stube is a traditional sales outlet for sophisticated holiday souvenirs. It was built in 1929 by Walter Butzek in the Bauhaus style.
