The Seiffen Mountain Church is commonly simply called the Seiffen Church. The octagonal floor plan of the Seiffen Church is a special feature and makes the Seiffen Church known all over the world. When planning the Seiffen church, Christian Gotthelf Reuther was inspired by the construction of the Dresden Frauenkirche. Its interior decoration reflects the bright, friendly Saxon baroque of the end of the 18th century.
The wood carving tradition from the Ore Mountains has made the Seiffen church world famous. The Seiffen Church made of wood went around the globe a thousand times.
